Marie lives in Sussex with her husband Nigel, and daughter Emily.
She studied photography at college and received a high level City & Guilds qualification. She is also qualified in Graphic Design.
Since then Marie's main training has been 'on the ground' , exploring and developing her skills in portrait photography as well as other subjects, such as landscapes, water, flowers and interior designing. Marie is a locally exhibited photographer and has held two exhibitions, titled 'Across the Seas' and 'A touch of Beauty', which were featured in local newspapers.
She is an active member of The Kings Church, Mid Sussex, in particular supporting and helping to run the local baby and toddler group. Professionally she has worked as a Youth Project Worker for a local children's charity, which included producing a magazine for young people in care in West Sussex.
Marie says “ I absolutely love photographing natural beauty – whether that be the smile of a baby, the bond between a mother and child, a couple celebrating becoming married, or creation's beauty all around us. I think I will be photographing until I am too old to hold a camera! “
Her style
As much as possible, Marie likes to take photos in natural daylight and surroundings. This works particularly well with babies and children as they are more relaxed and enjoying themselves, which always makes for a better photo. Children love to show their favourite places! This could be in your garden or a favourite place you like to go.
If this is not possible, then generally the photo session would take place at your home or if not convenient then at Marie's home.
